Your Chance to Create the Future!
The opportunities and ways of manufacturing are changing worldwide. In recent years, different concepts such as “Smart Manufacturing”, “Industrie 4.0” or “Industrial Internet” show the diversity of ideas to create the production of the future. All these visions are based on new, digital technologies and are connecting both physical and cyber world.
The digital transformation has already begun and will continue with an extensive impact on the manufacturing industry. Since its advent as a conceptual idea four years ago, digital technologies are nowadays a huge phenomenon which affects almost all markets and manufacturing companies. But what is the real impact? What technologies have an impact on the production? How to handle large data sets? What is the right timing for investing? How to implement new technologies such as AI, AR or mobile devices? How can digitalization and IT improve the company's performance and efficiency? What is a sufficient digitalization strategy? What digital technologies are needed in which industry? And most important, how can the new way of manufacturing influence the company‘s competitiveness?
Our benchmarking project "Digital Technologies - Evolution of production in high-wage countries" focuses on the examination of approaches for, applications of and developments in digital technologies to strengthen the position of manufacturing plants in high-wage locations. The goal is to identify and understand Successful Practice companies. As a participant in the benchmarking you have the unique opportunity to get insights into our research conclusions and – depending on the performance of your digital technologies resp. manufacturing activities – being endorsed as a Successful Practice candidate.
This benchmarking is structured in an efficient and established benchmarking procedure.
The objective of this benchmarking project is to identify Successful Practices in context of Digital Technologies and Smart Manufacturing. After filling out the questionnaire, you will get insights into our research conclusions, which will show you:
The results of this study will be shared with you in form of a personalized and free report of all findings.
Info: We also offer reports in an individual dataset for companies that would like to analyse and compare several subsidiaries or business units! Don't hesitate to contact us for more information.
All data will be treated confidentially by the University of St.Gallen and will not given to third parties (including the financing consortia partners). In addition, we comply with "The International Benchmarking Code of Conduct", which is based on the widely used APQC/SPI Code of Conduct.
The Institute of Technology Management of the University of St.Gallen was founded in 1988. We maintain close links to industry through intense collaboration with Swiss and European organisations by means of major research and consulting projects. Our Division Production Management offers industrial organizations both industry and functional expertise, advisory and benchmarking competencies, and academic research from a single source. An experienced team of 60 researchers supports you in order to increase your future competitive advantages, from identifying the greatest improvement opportunities to their implementation.
